MINERVA III TAKES TOP BOAT IN ROLEX CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT!
We are especially proud here at "Minerva's Baja Tackle" because our 31' Bertram called the "Minerva III" took top boat in the Rolex/IGFA Offshore Championship Tournament. Captain Gilbert Kakogui and deckhand Omar Araiza made it possible for their teams to release 23 striped marlin in 4 days! Both tournaments set International Records for Striped Marlin Releases! "Kudos" for Release Tournaments and the "Minerva III"!


WORLD RECORD WAHOO CAUGHT IN CABO SAN LUCAS
What started out to be a very ordinary day of sportfishing in Cabo San Lucas, ended in an extraordinary way for 15-year-old Sara Hayward of Nacogdoches, Texas. A 184 pound wahoo!! IGFA representative Minerva Saenz, who inspected the fish, later said the lure was a "Mean Joe Green" rigged with the oldest set of 10/0 tandem hooks she had ever seen. Sara has applied for three world records for the 184- pound catch: all-tackle, junior female and the women’s 50-pound line class record, which is a shocking 30 pounds more than the current wahoo record of 153 pounds, caught in 1996 in San Salvador, Bahamas.
